DIY Throat Spray Recipe

We tried to squeeze in an R&R while actually just avoiding the worse case scenarios en route  an out of town work but it was still a lot of stressful travelling, satellite household managing and cancellations of other stuff on the side.

This weather is all sorts of bad and on a more personal matter, depleted much of my physical energy and strength.  I know this for sure when I start losing my voice and I can no longer speak. Like it’s excruciating to even make the faintest sound.

I suffered from various —-itis in my childhood. From bronchitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis.... you name it, I got it. I even had to have speech therapy to manage my natural voice modulation that was calibrated from performance level. While that sounds like a joke, it wasn’t. And it wasn’t funny having to be told that my natural speaking voice was, in fact, a factor in the depletion of my health. Later on in my adult life, I learned that I have so much throat chakra blockages, I almost, if not actually, blocked ALL of it according to a Soul Realignment session I once had 🤦🏻‍♀️

My point is! (Sorry so daldal when typing)

I was at the brink of getting sick last night right before bedtime. I gave Paolo fair warning to load up on vitamin C and diffused the powerful lemon, lavender, peppermint, thieves combo to avoid getting sicker.

I woke up in time for another working weekend and as soon as I got out of bed, I was desperate to get better: “I can’t get sick, not with all that’s left undone.” So I immediately (without even washing my face) grabbed an empty sterilised 60ml plastic bottle spray container (one of those kept for recycling bottles I had from a stash of product development packaging samples) and put the following stuff in it in this order:

  • 6 drops of thieves essential oil

  • 3 drops of peppermint essential oil

  • 3 drops of lemon essential oil

  • 1 drop of clove essential oil

  • a teaspoon of honey

  • filled it halfway through with vodka (yes, Momma! It kills germs and not just.... you know! Hehe)

  • filled it all the way with distilled water

I shook this vigorously, sprayed it directly onto my throat,  brushed with my natural activated charcoal toothpaste and gargled with a pulling oil. Drank a shot of the Ningxia red tea with a drop of thieves again and went about my usual day.

No sooner before my makeup client left, which was approximately 2 hours after that oily deed, I was already feeling better like nothing happened ever! I am floored by the results that is why I am sharing this with you.

So if you have those oils, some honey, vodka and feeling just as crappy as I did this morning, I hope this recipe saves your weekend too!  Have a good one ahead! ✨
